Rich Potter is a variety entertainer, comedian, and artist. Full disclosure, he also happens to be my husband. We’ve been talking about having him on the show for a while now to talk about creativity and its role in the world of clowns, juggling, and fire-eating. So, I’m super happy to have finally done it.
Rich is a graduate of Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus’ Clown College. He was in the circus for three years and then spent a number of years traveling the world with his one-man show as a busker. He’s recently written and stars in God the One Man Show. To me, the show is about what would happen if God had severe ADD and he was running late creating the universe. To hear how you can go from performing under the Big Top to busking the streets of Europe to embodying a hilarious ADD-addled diety, listen to this week's episode.

Many talk about how creatives are inherently broken. We don't have to be. We can create wild, vibrant, life-changing art. And we can be healthy, healed, and whole while we do it. Flaubert said, "Be orderly in your life so you can be wild in your art," (forgive the slight paraphrase). And it's true. Let's get rid of the "mad" in "mad genius." Listen to this episode to find practical ideas on how to do just that.
